Source of Raw Coal
The Company uses Low Ash Coal imported from Australia/China/US and other Europen countries to produce Low Ash/Phosphorous/Sulphur Coke.The import coal is discharged at Kandla /Tuna/Mundra Port,so that the shipment of coal consigned from Australia/China/US or from any other country becomes convenient at very lesser transportation cost.
The Company entered into an agreement with the premier National Laboratory CFRICentral Fuel Research Institute, Dhanbad (Jharkhand), an ISO 9001:2000 organization under CSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India for the know-how / design of improved Bee-hive Oven (CFRI – TATA type). The capacity of the plant at present is 8,400 MT per month with annual production of 100,000 MT and the capacity is proposed to be increased to 15000 MT per month with an annual production of 1,80,000 MT by March, 2018.
Highlights of Manufacturing Process:
Looking at day to day growing demand for Low Ash Metallurgical Coke through out the country, we have properly planned and set-up sophisticated Coke Plant with modernized Machineries consisting Two Batteries, one Battery consists one Chimney of 130 ft. height with 36 Ovens and another Battery consists one Chimney of 130 ft. height with 44 Ovens, totaling to 80 Ovens with plant area of 25 acre which covers 10 acre of RCC floor. To ensure manufacturing of quality Low Ash Metallurgical Coke for catering the regular requirement of our esteemed customers,we are importing the shipment of Hard Coking Coal from Australia/US and other Europen countries. After unloading the shipment at Kandla Sea Port, which is at a distance of about 40 Kms from our plant, Coking Coal is transported through trucks at bare minimum freight due to availability of thousands of trucks at all times in Kandla Port and stacked in Stockyard. Thereafter, the stage-wise manufacturing process at our Plant follows as under: From coal stockyard, the material is fed to coal crusher hopper with the help of Pay loaders for crushing the coal in crusher and through conveyors the crushed coal stores in Coal Bunker and the same is fed to charging cars below the bunker. The entire process of coal crushing and charging to the bunker is fully covered with G.I. Sheets which prevent any air pollution. Charging of coal through electronic charging car into improved design ovens is done with both the oven doors thoroughly sealed to prevent any leakage of gas. In course of charging of ovens, the coking chamber is put under suction by connecting it to the main chimney by special management of control dampers and refractory ducts provided inside the oven deck. The volatiles get heated up before recharges the main chimney where additional increment preheated air is supplied from the recuperate to insure efficient combustion of the evolved volatiles inside the tall chimney of height 130 ft. before escape to the atmosphere. In built catch pits have also been provided to trap bigger particles of coal carried along with the charging gases. After completion of leveling of the coal charge by method of Stamping, the direct flow of gases to the chimney is stopped by a special management of control dampers. Pre-heated air from recuperator is now directly admitted to the coking chamber through suitable parts provided in the arched roof and the partly combusted gases are left through hot flue passage inside the oven deck. All hydrocarbons get decomposed at high operating temperature and the free carbon particles also get heated up to a high temperature before the gases reach the sole flues where additional incremental pre-heated air is admitted in a regulated manner in stages to ensure complete combustion of all the combustible matter at high combustion. This ensures that only clean hot flue gases can leave the oven at high temperature and enter the recuperator to impart heat to the incoming cold air before clean flue gases are allowed to escape to the atmosphere through the chimney of adequate height of 130 ft. Contrary to conventional quenching system by taking the charge out of the oven is general practice, whereas the entire oven is hot cooled after pushing out coke mass main through Puller system, door close again for recharging of coal and water quenching carried out on coke mass to further reduces the chances of air pollution. The quenched coke from Platform of coke oven battery is transferred to the Coke stockyard for delivering into Coke Screening Unit through hopper with the help of conveyor. The LAM Coke is then screened in different sizes as per requirement. During the entire manufacturing process, rigorous check is being conducted by the expertise team at each & every stage right from crushing to screening without any compromise in quality of LAM Coke. The sample of the finished product is then sent to our fully equipped Laboratory for quality analysis test by eminent chemists and only after ascertaining satisfactory results and approval,the product is put to sale. According to the orders in hand, LAM coke is transported to our customers for delivery only after accurate weighment at our computerized 60Mt capacity Weigh Bridge installed within our plant premises.
